Suspicious User Detection - New Tool in Twitch Channels
Twitch has presented the new moderation tool. With its help, the system spots accounts trying to get around channel bans. This way, anyone moderating a Twitch channel detects potentially disruptive behavior before any issues occur.
The company released the tool in direct response to the community requests calling for more robust moderation options to handle new accounts popping up after a user got banned. After falling an account as a “possible” or “likely” ban evader, Twitch channel moderators can take action against it manually.
All messages sent from flagged accounts are automatically screened from chats, pending moderator review. Those Twitch channels looking forward to more aggressive moderation can turn off the same settings for flagged accounts. Moderators can also manually add users to the suspicious account list to keep closer tabs on them.
Twitter Private Information Policy Update
Following their ongoing effort to build tools with privacy and security at the core, the social media giant has updated its privacy policy. No more images of people posted without consent are allowed on Twitter. The company added the “private media” to the list because the sharing of such material could be used to “harass, intimidate, and reveal the identities of individuals.”
The update follows the current rules prohibiting the publication of people’s private information, including addresses, phone numbers, identity documents, and medical records.
